What’s In a Name?
Calvary KidzChurch has embarked on a series entitled “What’s in a Name?”
The hope of these lessons is to get to know God more intimately through His biblical names. Names reveal who we are and say something about identity. Therefore, God reveals Himself by His names and can be known through His names. Every name of God has a meaning: Jehovah Raah (a Shepherd/Companion), Yahweh (I am), Jehovah Rapha (Healer). God’s names reveal an aspect of His being, His character and His intention towards His creation. Being on a first name basis with someone is personal and can indicate a close relationship, and we desire our children to grow in personal relationship with God. This is why we also give children an opportunity to pray and learn to listen to God, their Good Shepherd.
Lesson #1 – What’s in a Name?
This is a story about the importance of names in the Bible, and what names say about the people in the stories we find written there.
